Check Point Software Technologies and cloud security provider Wiz are teaming up to enhance cloud security for enterprises by integrating cloud network protection with Cloud Native Application Protection (CNAPP).
The collaboration is designed to bridge security gaps between cloud network infrastructure and application security, helping organizations gain greater visibility and control over their hybrid cloud environments.
Through integration between Wiz’s CNAPP platform and Check Point’s security controls, organizations can access unified security insights, as Check Point’s cloud network security controls will be embedded into Wiz’s CNAPP risk platform.
This will allow security teams to automate attack prevention, monitor threats in real-time, and prioritize risks more effectively.
Wiz’s risk analysis capabilities will also feed directly into Check Point’s security framework, providing security teams with insights into vulnerabilities, misconfigurations and network risks, enabling proactive remediation before attackers can exploit weaknesses.
These capabilities give cloud security teams better visibility into unsecured assets across their environments, using network security data to make informed decisions about where to allocate resources for mitigation.
The integration also facilitates automated policy enforcement, reducing the manual effort required to secure cloud workloads and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards across multiple cloud environments.
By integrating Wiz’s analytics and automation capabilities, network security teams will receive tailored recommendations on how to optimize security controls, which could lead to improved response times to potential threats.
In addition to the technical integration, the partnership includes a strategic business alliance, whereby Check Point will assist its CNAPP customers with migration to Wiz’s platform.
As part of this effort, Check Point plans to reallocate resources to focus on core areas such as Cloud Network Security, Web Application Firewall (WAF), AI-driven security technologies and other emerging cloud security technologies.
Breaking Down Security Silos
The continued adoption of hybrid and multi-cloud strategies has led to concerns over security silos, where cloud network security teams often operate independently from cloud application security teams.
This can lead to fragmented security policies, misconfigurations and an increased risk of cyberattacks. The two companies aim to resolve this challenge by offering a seamless integration between their security platforms.
In a statement, Wiz CEO Assaf Rappaport emphasized the significance of this partnership, saying the integration of the technology would enhance visibility and prioritize risks more effectively.
“Our partnership ensures that companies can seamlessly protect their network and cloud environments with an integrated, industry-leading solution,” he said.
Check Point CEO Nadav Zafrir highlighted the broader impact of the partnership.
“This partnership was formalized to create a new security paradigm — combining Check Point’s cloud network security expertise with Wiz’s CNAPP leadership to deliver comprehensive protection across hybrid mesh environments,” he said in a statement, “Together, we are transforming how organizations manage risk, enabling teams to collaborate with greater efficiency and control.”
Pressure to Secure Cloud Environments
The collaboration highlights a growing trend among cybersecurity vendors to offer holistic, integrated security solutions that address the evolving needs of enterprises managing multi-cloud environments.
Organizations are facing increasing threats from cybercriminals, regulatory pressures and operational complexity, making maintenance of robust cloud security postures a top priority.
Marina Segal, CEO, Tamnoon, noted as organizations transition from Check Point CloudGuard to Wiz it is critical to maintain continuous security operations while minimizing disruption.
“CNAPP migrations can take time and energy from already understaffed security teams,” Segal said. “Our experience has shown that it is important to follow a proven process and make sure you have experts to guide every successful migration of any CNAPP.”
