Microsoft has released the Windows 11 22H2 KB5030219 cumulative update to fix security vulnerabilities and introduce 24 changes, improvements, and bug fixes.
KB5030219 is a mandatory Windows 11 cumulative update containing the September 2023 Patch Tuesday security updates.
Windows 11 users can install today’s update by going to Start > Settings > Windows Update and clicking on ‘Check for Updates.’
Windows 11 users can also manually download and install the update from the Microsoft Update Catalog.
What’s new in the Windows 11 KB5030219
After installing today’s KB5030219 update, Windows 11 22H2 will change its build number to 22621.2283.
Microsoft made twenty-four changes or fixes in the Windows 11 22H2 KB5030219 update, with the highlighted ones listed below:
- Microsoft removed a blank menu item from the Sticky Keys menu that was caused by the KB5029351 update.
- This cumulative update fixes an authentication issue when using a smart card to join or rejoin a computer to an Active Directory domain. This occurs after you install Windows updates dated October 2022 or later. For more details, see KB5020276.
- New! This update adds a new feature where you can hover over the search box gleam to see a search flyout box. You can adjust this feature in Taskbar settings.
- This update supports daylight saving time (DST) changes in Israel.
- This update addresses an issue that prevents the Search app from opening when you click on the button after a machine has been asleep.
- This update improves the reliability of the Search app.
- This update addresses an issue that affects the TAB key not properly switching between search results.
- This update addresses an issue that caused the Narrator to not correctly identify the search box on the taskbar and search highlights within the search box.
- This update addresses an issue that affected the search box size in tablet posture mode on Microsoft Surface Pro and Surface Book devices.
