I love the challenge of working in a market where there are massive customer problems, such as online fraud, with equally large opportunities to stop it. We’re currently at a pivotal crossroads between a rapidly-evolving payments and fraud landscape, and an open playing field to become the clear choice for businesses. I’m Chris Jones, and I’m starting this journey as Sift’s new Chief Revenue Officer. I’ve been leading high performing go-to-market teams for the last two decades, and I’ve been involved in multiple parts of the cybersecurity sector for the past five years.
Leading with value
At the core, our mission at Sift is to help everyone trust the internet. According to the 2023 Global Payments and Fraud Report conducted by the Merchant Risk Council (MRC), merchants cite mounting challenges in managing e-commerce fraud over the past few years due to the surge in sophisticated attacks. Against this backdrop, our mission, the work we do, and the value we deliver has never been more important and in demand.
This is why my #1 priority is to solve business’ fraud pain points. By alleviating customer friction and giving businesses a true platform to rely on, we’re creating better online experiences that protect revenue and spur growth. In my position as CRO we will focus on initiatives that serve our central tenet: driving indispensable value to our customers at every touchpoint.
Winning the fight against fraud
As digital commerce continues to break records, fraud has become an unavoidable cost of doing business for many, jamming up revenue and prohibiting growth. In fact, financial fraud detection spending is projected to grow 57% over the next few years.
In the midst of this surging fraud and investment to contain it, many vendors offering a variety of fraud-fighting approaches and technologies are vying for market share. And as the digital risk and cybersecurity markets mature, there will be more consolidation with enterprise security and identity & access. This massive shift in the market will make it all the more important for businesses to consider how they’re building trust with their customers and creating streamlined, secure online experiences in order to maintain loyalty.
Sift’s global ecosystem of data, tools, and fraud prevention professionals make it uniquely effective in solving fraud problems across industries at every stage and size. With this balanced approach, we can help more customers mitigate fraud and drive growth than any other company in the space. I truly believe this is just the start for Sift.
