In the latest “Proof of Concept” panel discussion, two CyberEd board members, Connecticut state CISO Jeff Brown and Maricopa County, Arizona CISO Lester Godsey, join Information Security Media Group editors to discuss securing digital government services, improving user experiences and balancing user convenience with robust identity verification.

Brown and Godsey joined Anna Delaney, director of productions, and Tom Field, senior vice president, editorial, to discuss:

• Conducting risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and threats in digital government services;
• The types of cyberthreats or attacks that target digital government services and how to protect against them;
• How government is approaching cybersecurity challenges posed by emerging technologies such as AI, IoT and cloud computing.

Brown, who leads cybersecurity for the state of Connecticut, previously served as CISO for the life and retirement business at AIG. He also held senior information security leadership roles at BNY Mellon, GE Capital, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch.

Godsey has over 27 years of higher education and local government IT experience. He has spoken at local, state and national conferences on telecommunications, project management, cybersecurity and data and has taught at the collegiate level for over 12 years in the areas of technology, business, project management and cybersecurity.
