The purpose of this policy from TechRepublic Premium is to provide guidelines for the proper use of peer-to-peer file sharing. It includes an authorization form for approval of P2P file transmission, which sets the conditions and parameters in which this data exchange must occur.

From the policy:

P2P applications should only be used to send specific files for a limited duration of time. These should not be set up to indefinitely share or provide access to material for an extended duration of time (unless an exception is permitted in writing by the IT Department/Office of Security). Where possible, expiration limits should be enforced on shared files, or access should be manually disabled by senders after a 24-hour time window.

The download comprises an eight-page PDF and Word document.

Previously priced at $49, this is now available to download for $9. Or free with Premium annual subscription: click here to find out more.
