Information Security Media Group editors are live at InfoSecurity Europe Conference 2024 in London with an overview of opening-day activities and hot topics including the latest ransomware trends, software security, election security and artificial intelligence risks.

Nearly 14,000 people are attending the four-day 2024 conference with the theme, “Rethink the Power of Infosecurity.” The ISMG news team will be providing updates from RSA and conducting more than 150 interviews with keynote speakers, top cybersecurity executives and influencers this week.

The panelists – Anna Delaney, director, productions; Mathew Schwartz, executive editor, DataBreachToday and Europe; and Akshaya Asokan, senior correspondent, global news desk – discussed:

  • Emerging tactics by ransomware gangs and prospects for a proposal to outlaw ransom payments;
  • Progress being made on “secure by design” guidelines for software developers proposed by John Goodacre, professor of computer architectures at the Department of Computer Science, The University of Manchester;
  • Emerging risks related to generative AI tools, from election misinformation to enterprise security.
