Artificial intelligence was never a bad think – A self fulfilling Prophesy (My personal vision). Honestly, I think AI technologies like CHATGPT and other Chatbots are NOT a real risk or risks different from those that already exist today, we know and face every day.
I think the industry is taking advantage of all this viral “run-run” and putting all its global marketing capacity to buy time while in reality they are building an entire ecosystem of services and technology with only economic ends. Together we are creating a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I sincerely believe that they are achieving it thanks to the fact that the whole world is talking, replicating and viralizing these messages, they have managed to put it in everyone’s retina and begin to generate fears about it.
It is not about stopping the investigations, it is about correctly communicating what each thing is, since if we all continue talking about this without technical rigor and always from 30,000 feet above sea level, we will be helping to create this “bad” monster called artificial intelligence ” the matrix”, which today does not really exist.
We must not forget that when we talk about these technologies in practice we are talking about the conjunction of other technologies and tools that have existed for a long time, such as: automation, information search and parsing, “learning” in quotes put on purpose and a lot of available processing speed, I think there is nothing new in all this that could do us so much damage in the future in relation to what we know today and how they are announcing to us.
At the risk of being wrong, I think it will only be about more processing capacity, a lot more and new algorithms to do “things” much more optimized and efficient, all this is the same as doing many more things much faster and so on. Yes, there could be new risks, but they are typical of having “more of everything”, not of artificial intelligence itself.
Only the passage of time will tell us what will really happen with this, just as, for example, it showed us what has happened with the Metaverse. In human history, the reality of the future has always surpassed any imagined fiction.
