DEFINING ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. The office of security or the IT department is responsible for providing guidance and direct remediation efforts based on security principles and an in-depth understanding of the overall security posture.

2. Organizational employees are responsible for adhering to the organization’s antivirus policy, procedures and practices and engaging in the appropriate use of organizational electronic information resources under the organization’s policies and the law. Organizational employees must become knowledgeable about and follow relevant antivirus policy requirements and guidelines, the resources under their control and promptly report security-related incidents and violations involving their systems or accounts. They also must not attempt to gain unauthorized access, gain access to confidential information security strategies, disrupt operations or inappropriately alter organizational information. Organizational employees must additionally complete all required antivirus security-related training.
