Accenture has finalized its acquisition of U.K. tech consultancy firm 6point6, which specializes in cybersecurity, cloud and digital transformation solutions. The acquisition will add 6point6’s 400 staffers to Accenture in support of its business in the U.K. market.

The Dublin-based tech firm did not disclose details of the deal, but
Accenture announced the closing of the deal Wednesday – two months after unveiling plans to acquire 6point6 for an undisclosed sum. Accenture also did not disclose details of the deal this week.

Founded in 2012, Manchester-based 6point6 has supported large digital transformation projects for the U.K. government, including the U.K. HM Court and Tribunal Services.

In addition to digital transformation and modernization of legacy systems, 6point6 has helped companies adopt machine learning and support cybersecurity with services such as penetration testing and cyber incidence response management.

With its latest acquisition, Accenture hopes to strengthen its strategy and architecture offering for central government, defense and security, and financial services, the company said Wednesday.

“With Accenture’s breadth of consulting and technology services, it will add to our innovative team to help clients reinvent themselves with solutions that are fit for the future,” said Emma Kendrew, Accenture Technology lead in the U.K. and Ireland, when announcing the deal in October 2023.

The CEO of 6point6, Nefyn Jones, said the deal marks the “next phase” of growth for the company.

The British buy is the latest in a series of acquisitions by Accenture to expand its cyber capabilities to support government services across Europe.

In December, Accenture signed an agreement to acquire Italian consultancy firms Customer Management IT and SirfinPA, which specialize in delivering public safety measures. This merger aligned with the company’s focus on building core IT requirements for government agencies.

In November, Accenture acquired Innotec, Spain’s most prominent cybersecurity service provider, to better support multinational companies with a presence in the country (see: Accenture Buys Innotec Security to Expand Footprint in Spain).
