British startup RevEng.ai has announced raising $4.15 million in seed funding for its AI-powered software supply chain security platform.
The investment round was led by Sands Capital, with additional support from Episode, In-Q-Tel Capital, and IQ Capital.
London-based RevEng.ai is building a platform that leverages AI to discover malicious code, backdoors, and vulnerabilities within the software used by organizations.
The company’s BinNet proprietary AI model was created specifically to verify the integrity of the software supply chain through in-depth analysis of capabilities and functions, security assessments, and automatic YARA rule creation.
Offering support for Linux, Windows, and Android, the solution integrates with existing tools, aiming to help customers improve security, compliance, and development efficiency.
RevEng.ai has graduated from the UK National Cyber Security Centre’s Startups program and participated in the Intel Ignite 2024 program, which helped the startup enhance its capabilities.
The new funding will be used to accelerate RevEng.ai’s growth, improve its proprietary AI models, hire new talent, and increase its presence on the US market.
“Our goal at RevEng.ai is to simplify and automate the analysis of released software. Our platform helps security engineers and malware analysts identify malicious components to verify the integrity of software supply chains without needing access to source code,” RevEng.ai founder and CEO James Patrick-Evans said.
