Dunphy compared the current AI landscape to the early days of cloud computing. Gen AI is capable of improving and maturing faster than cloud technology did, driven by rapidly evolving tools, he said.
Establishing risk management practices is crucial to ensure ethical use of AI. Integrated risk management, he said, involves clear communication between corporates and cybersecurity leaders. “Overcommunicate and meet with your senior leaders multiple times before a decision is made,” Dunphy said.
In this video interview with Information Security Media Group at ISMG’s North America Midwest Summit, Dunphy also discussed:
- Strategies for effective AI governance;
- Proactive integration of security considerations in project planning;
- The importance of aligning cybersecurity with business objectives.
Dunphy has more than 15 years of experience in the manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality, education and consumer packaged goods industries. Prior to Omron, he was the vice president of information technology at the American Hotel & Lodging Association. His areas of expertise include cybersecurity, cloud computing, system administration and business and IT alignment.
