What is the Cybersecurity Program Template?
This template is provided by the New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS) as a tool to help individual licensees and individually owned businesses licensed by DFS (collectively, individual licensees) in developing a cybersecurity program as required by 23 NYCRR Part 500, the DFS Cybersecurity Regulation.
This document does not need to be submitted to DFS or any other state agencies for approval. Throughout the template, you will see underlined phrases, which are defined in Appendix 1: Definitions of Key Terms. You will also see “Section” or “§” followed by the part of the Cybersecurity Regulation that requirement applies to, which you can refer to for more information.
