Prove’s Mary Ann Miller Discusses Innovative Approaches to Identity Verification

Fraudsters can now easily create fake driver’s licenses to scam banks and merchants. Moving to electronic identification that can be stored on mobile devices has the potential to unlock innovation in the identity verification space, said Mary Ann Miller, vice president of client experience at Prove, a digital identity verification platform.

“In 2024, we will start to see that conversation start to step up around flexible use cases where we can see that mobile driving licenses are not just for the purpose of checking you have actually a license to drive,” Miller said.
“I hope a real ID process happens in the background that can augment our digital identity process in the future.”

- How the synthetic identity fraud space is expected to evolve.
Miller, an expert in the fraud and identity space, most recently led fraud strategy at Varo Bank, where she managed the process for transitioning the fintech to a nationally chartered challenger bank.
